Author Biography

ounded in 2010, Harlem9 is a collaborative producing organization in Harlem, comprised of Black theatre professionals from various backgrounds. Our goal is to produce together in Harlem, exploring the past, present and future of black culture, celebrating its rich and diverse history of storytelling. The Producing Body: Spencer Scott Barros, an actor/producer/facilitator/teaching artist and Associate Artistic Director of Liberation Theatre Company. Spencer facilitates global discussion on creating an inclusive and respectful work environment. Sandra A. Daley-Sharif is a professional actor, director, producer, dramaturge and award winning playwright. She is the Producing Artistic Director of Liberation Theatre Company. Sandra also facilitates LTC's Black Playwrights' Group and is a member of several professional theatre organizations. Bryan E. Glover is an arts producer, filmmaker and writer. He is a professional leadership and life coach, who is currently a Field Leadership Fund Fellow. Bryan has worked with various artists across diverse artistic fields. Garlia Cornelia Jones-Ly is a writer, producer and photographer, whose writing can be found in The New York Times and Washington Post. Garlia is the founder of Blackboard Plays, an organization devoted to Black Playwrights and their stories. Eric Lockley is an award-winning actor, writer, filmmaker and producer, whose work has been featured on stages in NY, Chicago, and South Africa, and on the small screen on BET, HBO, and MTV. Jonathan McCrory is the Director of Theater Arts Programming at the National Black Theatre in Harlem. Jonathan is an actor, director and producer. This anthology is an exciting achievement for us and celebrates the work we have witnessed and helped to create, since our founding in 2010. It is an example of the diverse work within our community of Black Voices that exists when given the opportunity to create in a fully supportive environment.
