When Lori Myers' father was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), the family was devastated. When her father lost his voice with the disease's rapid progression, he took to scribbling notes, notes Lori wouldn't - couldn't - look at well past his death. In her head, she imagined the wisdom they contained and even dreamed about writing a book to share with the world her father's sage advice.
As she stared at the box of notes, she also thought about what she wished she could say to her dad. After all, he'd been her hero. With his passing, more memories creeped in, but the box remained closed. Over time, Lori realized all the lessons she learned from this man full of integrity couldn't be contained in a box. They were already in her heart.
