The primary purpose of this primer is to explain the theoretical framework developed by Piketty throughout his Capital in the Twenty-first Century in order to clarify the confusion that has arisen with regard to this framework. It is hoped that, in so doing, it may help younger economists and other social scientists to better understand the elegant simplicity, power, and efficacy of Piketty's arguments.
