Her other novels include \u003ci\u003eA Wind in the Door\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003e A Swiftly Tilting Planet\u003c\/i\u003e, and \u003ci\u003eA Ring of Endless Light\u003c\/i\u003e. Born in New York City, L'Engle graduated from Smith College and worked in theater, where she met her husband, actor Hugh Franklin.
