The story is about a bright little lion cub called Chubby who instead of practicing his roar like he should, prefers to go wandering off discovering the far more interesting things that other animals get up to, causing his parents no end of annoyance. In the end Chubby, with the help of his Hippo friend, Mafuta, surprises everyone. A delightful children's tale full of expressive sounds to act out and play along to. The story is accompanied by beauitfully colourful illustrations by Ilona Suschitzky

Author Biography

Betty Misheiker was born in South Africa. She had a long & successful career writing and producing a wide variety of educational material for children's programmes. She adapted material for both Radio and TV (also Children's Theatre and Puppet Shows) and her stories and songs cover a wide range of topics, all dealing with educational subjects pertaining to children's daily lives. This story was first broadcast in a weekly radio programme series for little people. This is the first time it has been published in book form in English, with charming and imaginative illustrations by Ilona Suschitzky, who is Betty Misheiker's daughter.
