Alaska draws more than 1.3 million visitors to the state each year to experience its unique history, amazing wildlife, and natural beauty. Newcomers and longtime residents of Alaska; outdoor recreationists; students of Alaskan literature, culture, geography, and history; and readers of any age who dream of Alaska will revel in the stories from such great writers as John Muir, John McPhee, and Jack London. The Alaska Reader is as expansive in its appeal as the land itself.
