Why would God allow the creation of such a thing as an alcoholic? Is it a blessing, a curse, or merely a challenge the soul signed up for. Or perhaps there are some perks alcoholics have that normal people don't have. To be forsaken and loved is something not everyone experiences. We don't know what we've got until it's gone. That includes self respect self loathing, ostracizing and acceptance, self hatred and acceptance of self, and the ability to see ones self as worthy of breathing air. These are dilemmas alcoholics face and hopefully find a light at the end of the tunnel. In fact, there's over a thousand lights at the end of the tunnel. But the tunnel of an alcoholic is black and full of pitfalls. It takes a strong soul to love ones self in the face of such adversities that only life can throw at us. We are strong. And we love and care for each other; because no one else understands. This book was written to uplift the spirits of those of us in despair. Sometimes we have no choice of what challenges we face in life. But we do have the choice to face them. It's hard to hold your head up when you're at the bottom. Sigh if you know what I mean.
