After I drove to the beach and parked, I got out and started walking in the sand toward the water. I was looking ahead and walking into the ocean. All I can remember after that is my girlfriend grabbing me and pulling me back. I don't remember how she got there or even knew where I was. And I don't remember thinking I wanted to die. But I also don't know how to swim. Yet I was walking straight into the water. It had gotten about waist high when I felt these hands grabbing me and holding me tight, calmly saying, "Let's go."
