Because, Honestly: The Book is a collection of illustrations and thoughts drawn and written by Melody Hansen. It started with one illustration: posted on Instagram in 2014, it became known as the #BecauseHonestlyseries as the illustrations developed. Over the course of two years, Melody used the series as an outlet to process and express personal feelings and experiences, finding healing and clarity through her work. Her style, a combination of wit and unapologetic truths presented as poetry, gained recognition and became known as uniquely hers.
Because, Honestly: The Book was first released in 2016 as limited copies. Now re-released in 2020, it is the second edition. Same collection of work, more accessibility.
