Benny is a very busy bee. In fact, of all the bees in the hive, Benny is the hardest working of all. As the weather changes, Benny realizes that he and his friends have to gather nectar and change it into honey as soon as possible. Winter is coming and they won't have enough food unless they work hard and store up for the cold weather. Benny rallies the troops including his friends, Sam, Amy, Jane, Tod, and Max. They tackle the complicated task as a team. In the process, they learn how to work well together. Because of their hard work, they have enough food for the winter. Before they know it, it's springtime and the ground and water are beginning to thaw out. Then something scary happens. Max, the smallest bee, falls into the nearby pond. He can't get out.
