This book retrieves the moral theology of blessings of Thomas Aquinas for our times. It provides key theological insights for a reading of recent Catholic magisterial pronouncements. This reading avoids the hermeneutics of suspicion and adopts, in turn, a hermeneutics of reform and continuity. Its key organizational structure is a theology of the four chief virtues within which blessings must be understood: veracity, charity, religion, and prudence.
Author Biography
Israel Perez-Lopez is the Archbishop Chaput Chair of Philosophy at Saint John Vianney Theological Seminary in Denver, Colorado. He is the author of La teor?a de la conciencia de Antonio Mill?n-Puelles y Karol Wojtyla (2017) and Ense?ar a amar educando en la virtud (2018).
