California writer C.D. Payne is the author of over a dozen humorous novels that have won a large cult following around the world. His best-known work, "Youth in Revolt: The Journals of Nick Twisp," was the basis of a 2010 film. From Weinstein Films, it starred Michael Cera, Steve Buscemi, Justin Long, Ray Liotta, and Jean Smart. Payne's latest novels include "Helen of Pepper Pike" and "Brenda the Great." He is a native of Ohio (born in 1949 in Akron) and a graduate of Harvard College.
