Chester is a happy cocker spaniel who lives in Florida with a family who dotes on him. He has a nice backyard filled with tiny lizards he loves to chase.
But then, his family breaks apart. In doing so, they decide to put Chester up for adoption with a rescue group. The other dogs in the group are not so nice, and Chester has to be kept apart from them.
