Glamorous Precious Phenomenon
The Coronado Sparkle glass starfish was hand sculpted from molten glass to resemble the sparkle of the waves lapping against the Coronado shores. Small bits of iron pyrite and mica are found in the sand in Coronado, creating a sparkle and shimmer in the sunlight. I used pink dichroic glass to imitate this beautiful phenomenon. An earthy tide pool blue is embedded into the glass behind the dichroic to resemble the salty water.
Choose between Flat and Creeping Styles.
Images are of Creeping. Flat starfish will rest on a flat surface with no legs bent over the side. Creeping starfish have two bent legs, capturing the moment when the starfish is creeping away, just like it clings to rocks in the ocean near the Hotel Del.
It is about 5" in diameter.
