James L. Hoffman is a freelance writer and North Carolina native. He is a former newspaper reporter and editor and currently works as director of marketing and public relations for Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. He lives in Ocean Isle Beach with his wife Bonnie. They have three grown children and two still at home.
