Deeply in Love with Ningbo has collected writings by foreign visitors, from ancient days to today's residents, showing the depth of affection for visitors past and present to this unique city. This book is in two parts: Part One has selections from historical writings by famous and not-so-famous travelers to Ningbo, giving a clear picture of old Ningbo, and detailing the fascinating elements of this ancient port city. Part Two consists of 19 essays by contemporary foreign friends who have come to Ningbo to work, play, and live a good life. The writers come from many countries, have many different occupations, and have enjoyed many different personal experiences in Ningbo. But they all have one thing in common: they fell in love with the city, many making Ningbo their permanent home.
