Blindly in love, Garnett tolerates her husband's infidelity and tries to cope with his beautiful but bewildering country. It all begins to collapse when her mother-in-law goads her into telling a desperate lie. The events that follow soon bring this story of love, betrayal, corruption, and cultural conflict to a violent end.
Author Biography
Portia Tewogbade is an award-winning author, who taught English for several years at Georgia Tech and Nigeria's Federal Government College in Kaduna. Her short stories have appeared in African Voices, Mobius: The Journal of Social Change, and the Hawaii Pacific Review, among other publications. She is writing a second novel near her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia
