As we traveled and worked in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, food was not the story. Well, sometimes it was, as when the Negritos shared their charcoal roasted bat meat in the rainforest. Meals happened. Meals permeated the scene, and went unreported, but not forgotten. Now the chance for reportage, to make up for that omission. Food is a slice of the travel-culture pie. For my kids, comfort food is probably fish heads and rice. In the end, it doesn't matter what you choose, it all 'tastes like chicken.'
