by Pete L. Dykes (Author)
On the beautiful autumn day of October 4, 1960, the air around Kingsport Tennessee was suddenly rent with horrific explosions that shook the entire town with shock waves and multiple after-bursts. The 3 year old Aniline had blown up, setting off multiple other explosions from chemical storage tanks nearby. Death and destruction was immediately the order of the day at the huge industrial complex and for the entire community, in what was to be called Tennessee's worst industrial accident.
