The community has the inner strengths to regroup, restore and rebuild for the future following a disaster. Their assistance is through family, kin, strangers and fellow community members. It is very important to recognize the community as decision makers of their fate but not to inform and have others decide their fate. The rebuilding of the community's lives, and the community's environment is accomplished through projects carried out by internal and external Project Managers. The community will be resilient in the long-term because of their collective resources, knowledge and expertise.This "How to Book" is based upon the interactions of the community, project manager and government and funders. This book outlines a WORKING Together Framework of the players and actions to be taken. In addition, strategies and challenges per Project Phases are discussed to make community engagement a reality leading to a sustainable community for the long-term.
