Diane Schallen is an experienced homeschool mom and teacher. For the past twenty years, her popular series of living history classes, workshops, and camps were enjoyed by kids of all ages at her country home. Her first book, Explore Medieval Times is the result of her time-tested teaching experience. Making history fun for all ages has been her goal that has resulted in a quest for the best tools, activities, and books to provide quality classical learning experiences. Exploring history with children by reenacting stories and events, and learning history through art, literature, cooking, crafts, drama and more. Why not build a real Indian encampment with homemade twenty-six-foot teepees, play games that Native American children played, then have a group campout. For Pioneer Days summer camp children built a full-size pioneer wagon and tested their abilities to grow and cook their own food, dip candles, make butter and sew prairie clothing. Many happy years spent creating and exploring history.
