"Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Heb 11:1. Many classify faith as a noun, when in actuality; it serves as both a noun and a verb. Faith and fitness after 40 focuses on the noun and the verb, meshing the spirituality and the practicality of faith, health and fitness. As a Pastor, I have had many people come to me asking me to pray for preventable health issues, that cannot be solved by pray alone. Why, because they have no intentions upon applying the corrective action to manifest their prayer request. Yes faith without works is dead, but as it pertains to your health, faith without work(ing) out, equals death. Faith and fitness after 40 is marriage of the word faith both as a noun and as a verb. It will show us that the bible is not only a book of faith, but also a book of practical application to coincide with the belief. Jesus paid a lofty price for us to be healthy, and I pray this book will help us to begin to experience the health he desired for us to have. JLeeD

Biography Pastor Jimmy L. Duggans, Jr. Pastor Jimmy Lee Duggans, Jr. was born in Columbus, Mississippi, on June 30, 1965 (46 years old) to Mr. Jimmie Lee Duggans Sr. (deceased) and Ms. Marcia Hollinshed. He is the eldest of 5 children having 3 sisters and one brother. He is currently divorced and resides in Nashville, Tennessee. Upon completion of high school, Pastor Duggans entered the United States Air Force at the age of 17 and served his country honorably for 9 years. While in the military, he was awarded the USAF Achievement medal, and he was also a recipient of the Outstanding Young Men of America award in 1992. Following an honorable discharge, Pastor Duggans went on to pursue his degree in Physical Therapy in San Antonio, Texas. It was there that GOD revealed His plan for his life, and Pastor Duggans transitioned from healing bodies to healing souls. He then went on to receive his Bachelors degree in Theology from Christian Bible College and Seminar. His Masters and Doctorate in Ministry from Friends International Christian University. Pastor Duggans was baptized in Columbus, Mississippi, at the age of 8. He went on to preach his first sermon at the age of 10. He was ordained in February 2002, in San Antonio, Texas, and served as Senior Pastor at the 10th Avenue Church of Christ from 2002-2004. He currently serves the Lord under Pastor Bryan Williams of Church of the Messiah in Nashville, Tennessee. Pastor Duggans has just completed his Doctoral dissertation entitled Faith and Fitness After 40 and is the founder of In Jesus Name (IJN) ministry. In Jesus Name ministries will minister to Christ believers of all races, but it will focus on those whom have suffered misfortunes in life. The initial emphasis is to discover who we are in CHRIST JESUS by word study, and acting upon who GOD says we are. Another part of the ministry is to provide for the less fortunate and those whom Jesus held in high regard: the Hungry, Homeless, Sick and Imprisoned, etc. (Matthew 25:31-46; James 1:27) Besides his spiritual accomplishments, Pastor Duggans is a avid exercise fanatic for over 27 years.
