This book includes recipes which have been used over many years of cooking for and entertaining of family members and friends. It is a collection of favorite recipes of Japanese origin as well as some other Asian flavors and American cooking.
Author Biography
S. Floyd Mori and Irene Mori are Americans of Japanese ancestry. Floyd was born and raised in Utah, and Irene was born in California but raised in Utah. They met while attending Brigham Young University. Floyd is President/CEO of the Asian American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) in Washington, D.C. He has been the Executive Director/CEO and National President of the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL). They have been involved with the Japanese American community for many years and have tried to help educate others on the experiences of Americans of Japanese ancestry over the years, including when 120,000 persons of Japanese descent were forcibly removed from their homes on the West Coast of the United States and incarcerated in American concentration camps. This is another attempt to educate others about the culture and heritage of Americans of Japanese ancestry through cooking and recipes along with a little bit of history.
