"Remember the magic in things. You love to dance, princess, dance for you, for the colors that can't be seen." Like all princess ballerinas should, this beautiful princess lives a life full of all the magical colors of the rainbow. She enjoys her wonderful life in an enchanted castle and loves every minute of her life full of excitement, crowns, gowns, school, ballet, rehearsals, performances, and most importantly colors. But then everything in the princess' life changes in the blink of an eye. The princess' wonderful world is turned black and white when the wicked witch of the kingdom casts an awful spell that takes away the princess' ability to see color and leaves her to a dull, colorless life. The princess' best friend tells her the spell can be broken and the color will return only if she learns to find the true colors in the world. Follow the princess on her journey to find the colors in her black and white world and maybe you too will catch a glimpse of the magic and find some new colors in your world. All proceeds from the sales of this book will be donated to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Author Biography
Brielle Corrente is a senior at Forest Hills High School, located in a small town in Pennsylvania. Brielle was crowned Miss Teen Pennsylvania International 2014 in April 2014. When Brielle was fourteen she was diagnosed with Optic Neuritis and as a result lost the majority of her vision and is color blind. She lost the ability to read, dance, study, and other things she loved to do overnight. Brielle likes to say that through finding a friend, finding a passion, and always remaining true to herself she was able to overcome these obstacles. While reigning as Miss Teen Pennsylvania International 2014 Brielle hopes to inspire kids, teens, and even adults to overcome any types of adversity that they may face in their lives and ultimately find the true colors in their colorless worlds. Finding The Color in My Black and White World tells the story of overcoming adversity and finding the good, the magic, in something that may seem impossible to overcome. All funds raised from the selling of this book will be donated to The Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania because they first helped Brielle find her colors in her black and white world.
