Author Biography
Born on the eastern shore of the Pacific, Mark has a lifelong love and respect for the sea. Admiration as well, for the bold captains old who dared set out on open ocean to find what lay beyond the horizon. We can barely imagine the challenges faced, the hardships endured, and how the world and peoples appeared to their eyes. Once, long ago, I saw a ship. As she passed, we saw a galleon, not burning, but aglow. And not by lights aloft, nor on deck. As quickly as she appeared, she vanished. What was witnessed was shared with fellow sailors. After a long silence, an ancient Nordic salt nodded, then whispered, "Ist de Vliegende Hollander." STEP ABOARD: Hollanderbymarklee.com
