In the early 21st century, Christians are living in an age of secularism, where the once dominant influence of Chrristianity has been replaced by a culture founded on godlessness, relativism, and hedonism. Many of the answers to the questions posed by this new world can be found in the writings of the 20th century Christian thinker Francis Schaeffer, who foresaw the dangers facing modern Christians and wrote powerfully against them. While popular in his day, Schaeffer's work has become increasingly forgotten in subsequent years; the goal of Francis Schaeffer: A Retrospective on His Life and Legacy is to examine his life and introduce a new generation of Christians to his increasingly relevant ideas.
