For 30 years, Friendship House has provided more than just shelter and food for the homeless population of Washington's Skagit County. Founded on the principles of "homeless hospitality", people in need of support have found a safe and welcoming place to rest and find stability. Since its inception Friendship House has been a model for compassionate care for those with the greatest needs in society and have achieved success in providing services, support and most recently job training to this population. "Friendship House--Homeless Hospitality" charts the foundation and progression of growth throughout the decades and examines each of the strong and varied characters who have brought unique leadership and community awareness to the organization. Learn about the shelter's legacy from the viewpoint of the directors, residents, volunteers and donors who have made it such a success.
