by Frank Acquaviva (Photographer), Kellz (Author)

These poems I have written are exposing, raw, wounded and vulnerable. Every word is uncensored and was written for those who have believed that God doesn't like ugly. This was written under the covers for all the lovers, loners and stoners. It's the cry of every prisoner. It's for every chemically imbalanced patient who may have had a hard time being understood. God Loves Ugly is for those who have a hard time truly loving and being loved. It's for the fantasies you have yet to live; every dream you had to let go of and for every demon that secretly haunted you. It's for every cycle you had to break and every heart ache you could not fake. These hidden sometimes explicit words were written for you; God Loves You.

Author Biography

Kellz is an American writer from the Bronx, N.Y. Born in 1990 and she has been writing short stories and poetry since she was six years old. In 2008 Voices UnBroken introduced Kellz to creative writing workshops that allowed her to open up to her peers as well as the South Bronx community. In 2009 Kellz went to Nyack College. This institution made it easy to develop the tools and armor needed to walk through darkness and into the light. In 2010, on a summer day Kellz was spotted at a local beach by Wayne Lawrence and was featured as a published model in; Orchard Beach: The Bronx Riviera. In the midst of creating a creative modeling portfolio Kellz came up with the concept God Loves Ugly. She began putting her stories into poems in a way to find yet let go. Kellz didn't want people believing that "God doesn't like ugly" because God died for the ugly. In this poetry you will find that Kellz gets real ugly and if you want more follow her poetry blog at Kellyinyabelly.wordpress.com.
