Author Biography

William Watson Goodwin (1831-1913) was Eliot Professor of Greek Literature at Harvard University. His many publications include 'A Greek Grammar, ' 'Greek Reader, ' 'Plutarch's Miscellanies and Essays, ' and 'Selections from Xenophon and Herodotus.'



Charles Burton Gulick (1868-1962) was an American classical philologist who taught at Harvard from 1892-1937. He is known in part for his work on Athenais's Deipnosophists for the Loeb Classical Library as well as his revision William Watson Goodwin's Greek Grammar.
