Because of its location as a crossroads of water, road, and rail transportation, the community evolved from an 18th-century agricultural and trade center for southern New Jersey to a railroad suburb of Philadelphia in the late 19th century. The Indian King Tavern, a significant Revolutionary War site, was the first historic site purchased by the State of New Jersey. In 1858, the discovery in Haddonfield of the first nearly intact dinosaur created a sensation in the world of paleontology. Today Haddonfield has again evolved into a suburb known for the qualities of its residential and educational resources.

Number of Pages: 130

Dimensions: 0.38 x 9.61 x 6.69 IN

Publication Date: August 13, 2008
