Author Biography
Anne Wingate is probably the only Agatha-nominated mystery writer with a PhD in English and a background of crime scene investigations and fingerprint examination. A world-class fingerprint examiner, she has done things even the FBI considers impossible, such as memorizing fingerprints and making a non-suspect ident from a palm print. She is married with three living children, two stepchildren, and nine step-grandchildren. Paul Albergine is dead now. A former Marine and an excellent Secret Service agent, he was also a devoted family man. His goal in writing this book was to get certain changes made in the Secret Service hiring procedures, as he was afraid the procedure then in place might let a potential assassin slip through. Although he was forbidden to publish, the manuscript did reach the decision makers, and the desired changes were made. So Paul's main goal was met in his lifetime.
