Carmen Suya was born and raised in Barcelona with a pencil in her hand, cultivating and experimenting with her passion for drawing until it became her profession. She lives in Barcelona and uses art to convey authenticity, break taboos and normalise some of the most common aspects of life. Carmen's work is populated by bodies of all types and shapes carrying out simple everyday gestures, such as sleeping, washing or eating, which makes it very easy to identify with them.
