Here is a unique picture book of learning solutions for teachers who are trying to help students struggling in three main areas of learning - attention, memory, and organization. For each area, it identifies specific problems such as difficulties with left to right scanning (an attention problem), presents an observed student behavior, explains the problem, and provides strategies and visuals to correct it, including illustrated worksheets.

Front Jacket

Help for the Struggling Student offers teachers and parents a picture book of solutions for their students who are having difficulties in three main areas of learning: attention, memory, and organization. This book also provides information that is needed to identify a student's specific learning style and shows how to select the right strategy for each student. Filled with a wealth of effective learning strategies and solutions presented in a pictorial format, this resource will give you the tools to show your struggling students how to do a task in a new way. By presenting your students with a pictograph of a solution prior to instructing them about it, you will greatly improve their understanding and reduce the need for excessive words in the instruction. And these pictures can be copied, cut out, and placed near the student's work area to remind him or her how to use the strategy. You can also enlarge the pictorial solutions and post them on your bulletin board or chart stand.
