He is the author of the highly-acclaimed \u003ci\u003eSarmada\u003c\/i\u003e, longlisted for the 2012 International Prize for Arabic Fiction. \u003ci\u003eHuddud's House, \u003c\/i\u003e his second novel, was longlisted for the 2018 International Prize for Arabic Fiction. He was the culture and arts correspondent for \u003ci\u003eAl-Quds Al-Arabi\u003c\/i\u003e newspaper and his opinion columns have appeared in the\u003ci\u003e New York Times \u003c\/i\u003eand in newspapers across the Middle East. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eG\u003cb\u003ehada Alatrash\u003c\/b\u003e, PhD, is an assistant professor at the School of Critical and Creative Studies at Alberta University of the Arts in Calgary, Canada. She holds a PhD in Educational Research: Languages and Diversity from the Werklund School of Education, the University of Calgary, and a Master's Degree in English Literature from the University of Oklahoma.
