Designed for small groups, this introduction to the New Testament leads the reader through a 15 week survey. While it can be used by individuals, it is best used by a group of 2 or 3 to 15 or more. Using background material followed by daily readings and questions, Dr. Cottrell leads the reader through the basics of the New Testament scriptures. This book uses language that is readable to anyone from the newest Christian through experienced Christians who want a refresher. With day to day experience as a pastor, Dr. Cottrell tries to not only help the reader learn what the scripture says, but also helps the reader think about how to apply what they have read in their daily life.
Author Biography
The Rev. Dr. Clinton C. Cottrell is a Presbyterian teaching elder (pastor) having served churches in Pennsylvania and Florida. He has earned a doctoral degree from Trinity School for Ministry and a Masters of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary where he has served as an instructor in Reformed Theology to Commissioned Ruling Elders and has served on the Board of Directors. For over ten years he has also been the facilitator of the Pittsburgh Seminar of the Foundation for Reformed Theology Dr. Cottrell has also served as the Stated Clerk of Peace River Presbytery and is known as a pastor-theologian who practically applies his faith and teaching. He is honorably retired from the Federal Aviation Administration where he worked as an air traffic controller, tower manager and on the executive staff in Washington, DC. He is pilot, an avid fisherman and amateur radio operator (WJ3X). He lives with his wife of nearly 40 years in Florida and is the father of four, including a daughter who is a Presbyterian pastor and a son who is an air traffic controller!
