The United States must reimagine the relationship with the Islamic world. The new relationship should be based on respect for Islam, for Muslims and for their countries. The United States should highlight the freedom of religion that Muslims enjoy in the United States. American Muslims will testify to the fact that the name of Allah is being called aloud, with no restrictions, from mosques built all across the United States.Congress leaders and American intellectuals must rethink the dynamics of the US foreign policy. Instead of bullying Muslim nations, the United States should engage them in diplomacy. Iran, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Afghanistan, Pakistan, all these states can be influenced more by talking to them, less by punishing them. American politicians must restrain their language when talking about Islam and Muslims. Instead of threatening economic sanctions against a legion of Islamic countries, the United States should interweave them into commerce and trade.
