by Saheed a. Adewole (Author)
In the wilds of Kenya's Maasai Mara National Reserve, two special animals are born. Cody is a horse, one of the fastest the other animals have ever seen; Joe is a cheeky orangutan. Driven together by a sandstorm that kills their parents, the two become the most inseparable of friends-until human interference threatens their very lives.
Hansen Klein is a wealthy businessman with a love for racehorses. He owns several, but recently none of his prize thoroughbreds have placed better than third in their races. When he sees Cody outdistance lions during an African safari, he knows he has to possess the magnificent horse-and Joe too.
Kidnapped and separated, Joe and Cody find themselves caught in a web of lies, deceit, and danger. Hansen wants Cody to win races. The authorities want the two wild animals euthanized, and a villainous trio wants Cody out of the way so they can sell her rich new owner a horse with hidden health problems. As for Cody and Joe, they just want to get home and travel the wide plains of the Maasai Mara once more.
