Marion was introduced to the imaginative and beautiful world of Inuit traditional stories while studying at the Nunavut Teacher Education Program in Iqaluit. That introduction sparked Marion's love for storytelling and inspired her to write Kaugjagjuk, her first book.Kim Smith has worked in magazines, advertising, animation, and children's gaming.
