by Sofía Dealma (Author)
This is the life of Marina, a Republican child that went boldly into combat with only the strength of her determination, becoming a woman during the fight, and aging in anonymity until history claimed her. If there is anyone worth being remembered, it's her. Marina Vega is twenty-one years old when World War II ends. Despite her young age, she has lived an exciting life. A mere teenager, she had to leave Spain and collaborate as a spy in the French resistance, helping refugees and saving Jews from nazi persecution. Now unemployed and free of any obligation, destiny finds her again. There is one last surprise left for her, an offer she cannot refuse: resume her mission hunting Wehrmacht and SS officials on the run from justice. But the young woman cannot even imagine the danger she is about to face, nor how her past--in Republican Spain and later in Francoist times--along with her efforts in the resistance, will take their toll. Soon, a perfect circle of hatred and revenge will come to a close. Only one Spanish woman fought in the French resistance. Her name was Marina Vega. She was honored by the European Parliament for her defense of freedom, and later forgotten. This is her story.
