Love, nurturing, abuse, tirades, ranting, and the gambit of emotions many families suffer while living with this chemical imbalance - "Bi-Polar Disorder", are the caveats for the story 'Living for Mikey'. One man caught in the clutch of a 'Bi-Polar' afflicted woman whose ability to manipulate emotionally and sexually, causes him to struggle with reality himself. His desperation to protect Mercedes' son and to provide some sense of normalcy for the child almost leaves him unable to recognize himself. Even after diagnosis she refuses treatment and medication, both of which the doctors said would allow her to be herself without the unpredictable outbursts, abuse and vile behavior in general. After three years of commitment to her and Mikey and random physical abuse to Paul from Mercedes, the fatherly figure has a choice to make... Is it best for Paul to stay or is it time to let go? Has he prepared the boy enough; has he shown him the differences between manipulation and love, violence and gentleness, lack of self esteem and self respect? What will be his destiny?
