I was thirteen when I met Jim. He was tall, handsome, with a muscular physique, and displayed a personification of herculean strength and vitality. Where the average teenager would see a stranger, I saw in Jim, a man of dignity; a man with an aspiring future. I said to myself, I have found the father of my future children.
Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that the father of my children would end up serving time in federal prison and that I would end up raising my children alone, but that had become my reality.
Nothing is harder on a marriage than incarceration. My story would have remained a secret forever locked within my soul were it not for the sacred words spoken to me by our Heavenly Father.
