The marriage of Christ and the church provides us with a goal toward which we press in our marriages. We strive to pattern our marriages after it. We struggle to reflect in our earthly marriages the heavenly one between Christ, the bridegroom, and the church, his bride. This is the glory and beauty of marriage.
