Father Robert Le Meur, OMI (b. 1922, d. 1985) arrived in Tuktoyaktuk in July 1946 to begin his missionary work amongst the Inuvialuit. Memories of the Arctic is his story of how he learned to live in this new environment, and of people he knew and places he lived during the forty years he spent in the north.
