As farms and mills flourished, other businesses began to appear. Introduction of the railroads allowed more products to come in and out of Milford to nearby Cincinnati and beyond. A school, new businesses, and fine homes were built in the busy little city by the river. Residents enjoyed opera and orchestra performances in the ornate city hall building, as well as boxing and other sporting events.
