Life continues to change for Dr. Horace Balfour. After signing his beloved boat over to Captain and Mrs. Garwood, to become a river tour cruise ship, he builds a house in town and becomes a partner in the medical practice. Joining the practice is the brilliant forensic pathologist, Dr. Beatrix Howell. All seems peaceful and quiet until eight days after the dedication of the new laboratory.
