On the 14th day of August 2019, I had a wake-up call that took me by surprise. I didn't know how much my life was about to change.
After a long-term relationship ended, I was devastated beyond belief. I found myself depressed, lonely and very insecure.
By chance, I met a long-lost friend and from then on I was living the good life. I was partying and over-indulging in ways that would eventually take their toll on my health. This resulted in an 11mm gallstone which caused me excruciating pain.
To achieve the results I wanted, I had to make difficult choices.
The doctor advised me to have surgery to remove my gallbladder.
With all odds against me I changed my lifestyle and succeeded in keeping my gallbladder.
It was a difficult period of my life, but my decision to take the longer road rather than the quick fix was something I've never regretted. I wrote this memoir because I want my readers to know that it's okay to do what you believe is right for you.
I hope this book inspires you. Joanne Elvira
