This is the story about a newly retired policeman who is about to embark upon a second career as a college professor, but he needs to write his criminological dissertation to get and keep a teaching job. His keen diplomatic skills wins the favor of one of South Boston's most notorious, yet retired Irish mobsters, one who, along with the now incarcerated Whitey Bulger, ruled the Boston underworld for decades and he agrees to let him into his world to tell his story. What begins as an academic collaboration quickly morphs into a team; one that must stand together to thwart the violent encroachment of the Russian mob, who are looking to take advantage of the power vacuum created by the arrests of Bulger and the retirement of major Mob players.
Author Biography
The authorJeff Czarnec is a retired Police Officer turned academic. He earned his Doctorate in Leadership Studies with a focus on cultural criminology from Franklin Pierce University, N.H., having conducted his research with members, retired and active of the Boston Mob. The primary consultant to Jeff, Mr. Calogero LoGrasso, is a member of the Boston Boxing Hall of Fame and a major gatekeeper to his hometown known as "Southie". He is a sought after screenwriter and expert on all things Boston and the proud father to two daughters. Jeff is married to Kathleen and the proud Dad to four grown children and grateful Grandfather to four grandchildren.
