Howishia McFadden had to survive in life while she was hiding her internal struggles behind a facade of normalcy. She had gone through a divorce, and her children had been sexually abused, which led to feelings of guilt, helplessness, and the need to forgive. However, she had a profound spiritual awakening that revealed new truths to her. In a poignant act of healing and release, Howishia and her children buried their pain symbolically in the ocean, using little wooden caskets. This act marked a turning point for them, helping them to let go of their trauma and embrace a future of resilience and advocacy. Howishia believes that it is important for us to understand that living a better life only comes through every trial, which makes us stronger.
