In 2003, she received an award from the Black Expressions Annual Fiction Writing Contest for the first chapter of her then titled manuscript, \u003ci\u003eSaving the Best for Last, \u003c\/i\u003ewhich is now the full length novel \u003ci\u003eSecret Sisterhood\u003c\/i\u003e.
