by Karen E. Lieblein (Author)
Join Ollie, the Long Island Osprey, in his adventures as a "fish hawk," and he'll take you soaring high up in the sky and then plunging into Hallock's and Peconic Bays for fish. All the while, you'll learn true and amazing facts, as he does, about how ospreys: nest, grow, dive, fish, and migrate thousands of miles each year between Long Island and South America. Readers of all ages will enjoy his journeys and learning about the way ospreys live. A portion of the sales benefit the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center located in Hampton Bays. This wonderful non-profit organization rescues injured wildlife and rehabilitates them at their facility. Once the animal heals, it is released back into the wild. If an animal is unable to be released, they can remain at the center for the remainder of their natural life. Your purchase of this book will greatly help in their efforts.
